What Personal Data is Collected, Why and How it is Used

All information provided to us on the website will be kept confidential, for use within our company and brand, and will not be shared with or sold to third parties who may solicit you for other interests. The third parties we do share your information with are for the sole purposes of providing communication about our brand and services, providing administrative and managerial acts concerning your experience with our brand and services, commerce and processing, and providing convenience for our customers and proper security services for your information.  

Comments

When visitors comment on the website we collect all typed data and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string. We do this to detect and reduce spam. We are proud members of the Wordfence community and as such we collect and report information on recurrent spammers into a collected database. These actions support a better internet experience for all and help other upright small businesses to be able to identify and block spammers from harassing their business and visitors online. Please do not spam our website. You will be reported. Learn how your comment data is processed

Gravatar

If leaving a comment, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. If matched and after approval of your comment, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Forms

When visitors fill out forms on the website we collect all typed data and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string. We do this in order to process the visitor requests for information and/or our services. Please note that on our forms, we collect partial data as it is entered. Even if a form is not submitted, we collect the partial form data entered along with the IP address of the visitor. We use this data to help guide our development towards the best streamlined user interface and visitor checkout process. If you have questions regarding our data collection policies, or would rather call us to ask questions or to place an order, please do so.

How long do we keep your data?

If you leave a comment, fill out a form, and/or place an order, the data and submission metadata are retained indefinitely. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information provided in the user profile. Once registered as a user(if), users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Media or Form Uploads

If you need to upload images in your form submission, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included.

What Rights You Have Over Collected Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you may request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. We require that any request regarding collected data be made in email form to info @thepottycompany .com FROM the email account we have collected data on (and yes – we check the full email header routing). Please allow up to two business weeks for us to research, compile, and return request with completed status. Incomplete information requests or those without matching header routing will not be considered.
